LIBNOVA invited to the ARCHIVER PROJECT KICK-OFF EVENT at CERN, Geneva

ARCHIVER PROJECT

LIBNOVA has been invited to take part in the kick off event at the CERN in Geneva. The Open Market Consultation will take place over the next three months in different locations across Europe, all of which LIBNOVA will be attending and is driven by the leading scientific research organisations in the continent, such as CERN, DESY, EMBL-EBI and PIC. The ARCHIVER project will introduce radical improvements in the area of archiving and digital preservation services with scientific research entities in mind.  The research communities involved represent all areas of scientific study, having representatives of the photon-neutron sciences, astrophysics and cosmology, life sciences, high energy physics and long tail of science.

Alongside LIBNOVA other trans-global companies have been invited such as AWS Cloud (Amazon’s Cloud Services), IBM Research, Google, Oracle and Huawei, to name a few.

The aim of this process is to understand the particular needs of the individual scientific communities in areas of digital preservation and archiving services, both of which are areas where LIBNOVA is a world beater. The ARCHIVER Project, archiving and preservation for research environments, has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

LIBNOVA is well known for its continuous research and development programmes. Only last year, after presenting their latest research results on artificial intelligence and neuronal networks, one of their research spearheads, they were awarded a 500,000€ grant to continue their promising work.
