This is a little abstract about it:
One of the more overlooked areas of digital preservation is the scientific world.
It is surprising that with the vast amounts spent every year on generating research data that very few entities turn to digital preservation to protect those assets. It is known that GLAM entities have a mandate to protect and preserve our cultural heritage for the long term, but what about research institutions and the massive amount of data they generate?
Not much attention is dedicated to generating a plan to manage, secure, and preserve the huge data volumes extracted from the costly research.
