LIBNOVA, which is carrying out the digitization and digital preservation project of The Norman Foster Foundation, participates in the forum “Future is Now”, a leading event combining Design, Architecture and Future at The Royal Theatre in Madrid.
From today, June 1st, it is possible to visit The Norman Foster Foundation. The inauguration coincides with the 82nd birthday of Norman Foster and, although the headquarters of the archive are located in the former palace of the Duke of Plasencia, the opening ceremony takes place at the Royal Theatre in Madrid, as part of the forum “Future is now”.
Participating in the event are some of the most outstanding personalities in the fields of architecture, urbanism, infrastructure, technology and the arts, such as Jonathan Ive, Chief Design Officer at Apple; Michael Bloomberg, former Mayor of New York City; Richard Burdett, Professor of Urban Studies at the London School of Economics or Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola, as well as Norman Foster himself.
At different roundtables, discussions are going to cover how cities and their inhabitants are facing the global processes of rapid urbanization. Participants analyse the latest models of innovation that seek to improve the way we live together in large cities, from new design solutions and the use of new technologies, to the most urgent social and economic challenges.
