DPC Rapid Assessment Model now available in Spanish, French and Portuguese

LIBNOVA has reviewed the Spanish translation of the DPC RAM Model

The DPC RAM is a digital preservation maturity modelling tool that has been designed to enable rapid benchmarking of an organization’s digital preservation capability. The translation of this tool into other languages is a very important milestone for the digital preservation community and for DPC members.

LIBNOVA is pleased to have contributed to make this possible by reviewing the Spanish version translated by RIPDASA.

Sarah Middleton, DPC’s Head of Advocacy and Community Engagement, explains “Over the years, our work has included the production of many guides and reports which have supported the development of digital preservation tools and standards, as well as the professional community engaged in digital preservation. These resources are predominantly in English – but they are of universal relevance. The translation of DPC material into other languages is therefore a vital way of supporting the digital preservation community across the world.

Maria Fuertes, LIBNOVA’s Head of Marketing, adds “It has been a pleasure for us to participate in the translation of the DPC RAM Model. In addition to helping Spanish-speaking DPC Members to benchmark their digital preservation activity, it will also help our customers in Spain and LATAM to establish goals for evolving and improving their digital preservation efforts in an easier, more efficient and user-friendly way.”

The DPC RAM in the newly available languages can be found in the following links:
